Fox News’ Sandra Smith Attempts Damage Control After Leaked Video and ‘Screengrab’

Today, Fox News anchor Sandra Smith attempted to do some damage control after some recent negative press surrounding a clip that was shared on social media of her appearing to mock a guest who was speaking.

“America First” supporter Lauren Witzke shared the clip of Smith attempting to clear the air and said, “Sandra Smith grovels on Fox News after getting caught on a hot mic trashing civilians for questioning the media’s authority on calling elections.

Witzke then let Smith know she wasn’t buying it and said, “Save your breath, Sandra. Nothing can save your plummeting ratings now!”

Smith began the clip by stating that, “After what feels like weeks of nonstop news in this cycle ahead of a much anticipated day off for me, I’d like to take a moment to address two items that have generated a lot of attention on the internet.”

“First, a leaked video of comments that I made off-air during our special election coverage on Saturday. That was spliced together with our on-air segment,” Smith explained.

Smith continued, “For the record, I was not editorializing, I was pointing out to our producers that we, in addition to other outlets, had already called the presidential race.”

“In a separate instance, a screengrab of this program was taken, edited, and distributed to fit a completely false narrative. It was not real. I anchor three hours of straight news daily, I report facts and I report them fairly,” Smith claimed.

Showing off her commitment to diversity, Smith said, “We have many different voices and opinions during segments of our show and all are welcome.”

Smith insisted that she is “proud to work with an amazing team here on ‘America’s Newsroom’ and on the Fox News Channel. I lean on this team of talented producers and journalists to cut through the noise and present the news accurately and fairly.”

“Thank you for making us your choice from news from 9am-12pm est. weekdays and I will see you back here on Tuesday – taking that day off,” Smith concluded.
