In a shuffling of the primetime lineup, it was announced today that Jesse Watters will become the permanent replacement for Tucker Carlson in the 8 PM time slot for Fox News.
It was also announced by the network that Greg Gutfeld would be moving up from the 11 PM time slot to 10 PM.
With that move, it was decided that the current occupant of the 10 PM time slot, Laura Ingraham, would slide into Jesse Watters’ old slot at 7 PM.
Sean Hannity will remain in the 9 PM slot in the shuffle and Trace Gallagher will finish out the nightly broadcast in the 11 PM time slot with nightly news, replacing Gutfeld.
The changes will be in effect beginning July 17, according to FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, who made the announcement.
In a statement, Scott said, “FOX News Channel has been America’s destination for news and analysis for more than 21 years and we are thrilled to debut a new lineup.”
“The unique perspectives of Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity, and Greg Gutfeld will ensure our viewers have access to unrivaled coverage from our best-in-class team for years to come,” Scott insisted.
The slot previously held by Carlson has been occupied by a rotation of hosts, none of which were able to match his previous ratings.
The network even tried hosts like former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who has a large following, but it remains to be seen if Watters can turn things around.
