‘Get in Loser, We’re Going Voting’ House Rep. Katie Porter Attempts Comedic Pitch to Mobilize Voters

California House Rep. Katie Porter tweeted out a video today in a comedic pitch to mobilize voters and said, “Get in loser, we’re going voting” while driving a van with “Ballot”, “Mobile”, and “Vote” written on the outside.

Member of “The Squad” and US House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez retweeted the video and said, “You heard the woman! Get in the Sienna and bring snacks!”

Porter recently appeared on MSNBC‘s “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell and he wondered what Trump meant by when he said that votes shouldn’t be counted after election day.

“President Trump here is just being ridiculous,” Porter responded. “Elections are not officially decided on election night in virtually every case. There’s a process by which the Secretary of State certifies the election results,” Porter insisted.

At a press conference on Wednesday President Trump said, “We’ll see what happens at the end of [Election Day], hopefully, the few states remaining that want to take a lot of time after November 3rd to count ballots, that won’t be allowed by the various courts.”

Business Insider suggested the results of elections are never finalized on election night and what Trump seemingly desires has the potential to disenfranchise his own supporters.

Although the 2016 presidential election wasn’t decided on the day of the election, at 2:30 am the following morning, Trump captured Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes, putting him over the 270 vote threshold.

“We don’t want anybody who casts a valid ballot to lose that vote simply because the United States Postal Service doesn’t deliver the mail,” Porter added.
