We reported on Friday that at an annual summit of conservative Christian leaders, former Vice President Mike Pence was called a “traitor” while getting booed and heckled during a speech that he gave.
The Faith & Freedom Coalition “Road to the Majority” is a conservative Christian summit that has in the past featured former President Donald Trump as a speaker.
We also noted that they would have Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) as a speaker and he vowed to fight against “The left’s schemes” by putting on the “full armor of God.”
Video from the event shows DeSantis entering with a standing ovation, unlike Pence, and many cheers from the crowd, as some appear to even chant his name.
After thanking the group for holding their event in Florida, as it was held in Orlando, DeSantis then touted decisions that he made during COVID-19 in Florida, as well as other conservative actions that he has taken for the state, including ensuring the 2020 election was secure.
DeSantis explained, “People need to be taught why America was founded, why there are principles that made our country unique. People need to be taught that our rights don’t come from the government. They come from God.”
“It ain’t going to be easy. You got to be strong. You got to put on the full armor of God. You got to take a stand, take a stand against the Left’s schemes. You got to stand your ground. You got to be firm. You will face flaming arrows but take up the shield of faith and fight on,” DeSantis declared during the speech.
“We need to teach kids that … the thing that matters is not where you came from, but the content of your character, your work ethic, and what you’re doing. And if you do that, you’re going to produce people in this country on the right track.” – @GovRonDeSantis
