Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott dismissed Joe Biden’s border plan as he said that he believes it will have the opposite effect and actually “entice more illegal immigration.”
The comments come as Biden visited the southern border for the first time yesterday in what many have decried as merely a photo op.
Abbott told reporters, “Those changes will probably do nothing more than entice more illegal immigration.”
“You have to implement the policies in my letter to stop illegal immigration and to begin the process he wants to work on,” Abbott explained.

During the visit, Abbott hand-delivered a letter to Biden that laid out five policy areas he wants him to address.
Abbott began the letter by writing, “Your visit to our southern border with Mexico today is $20 billion too little and two years too late.”

On Thursday, the Biden Administration announced “New border enforcement actions” in a fact sheet that it released.
The administration plans “new enforcement measures to increase security at the border and reduce the number of individuals crossing unlawfully between ports of entry.”
The fact sheet accused Republican officials of “playing political games and obstructing real solutions to fix our broken immigration system.”
Abbott previously predicted “total chaos” at the southern border if Title 42 was lifted and the Biden Administration referenced the order not being lifted for now by the courts in the press release.
