Hillary Clinton Fuels Presidential Run Speculation on Howard Stern Show

On Howard Stern’s guest list for December 4th, was former Secretary of  State, First Lady, and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. This was Hillary’s first visit to Stern’s show. During the 2016 Presidential race, Stern had begged Hillary to come on his show. This interview has added fuel to the rumors that Hillary will run in 2020. The New York Post reported:

One can only ask: Why now, if she has no plans to run yet again?

Sure, it’s possible she just loves being part of the national conversation. But of all the venues such a serious stateswoman could choose, one whose public presentation has been so carefully cultivated over decades, really: Howard Stern?

She hasn’t closed the door on 2020. Just this past weekend, during an appearance on the UK’s “Graham Norton Show,” Hillary said she’d been “deluged” with pleas to run again.

“I’d have to make up my mind really quickly,” she said, “because it’s moving very fast.”

A reference, perhaps, to latecomer Mike Bloomberg?

Stern was an able ally, allowing Hillary to expound on her ability to work across the aisle (despite no signature legislation while serving New York in the US Senate), her support for the Osama bin Laden raid and her role in advising the president, her plans for her first 100 days as president (health care), and her concerns for the future of the country, which felt especially raw during Trump’s inauguration.

“If I had lost to a normal Republican,” Hillary said, “I wouldn’t have a pit in my stomach.”

Stern appears to be a fan of Hillary’s. The two touched on a variety of topics in the interview whether or not she is a Lesbian to how uncomfortable she was at the inauguration. Hillary said she was devastated about her loss, but she still reached out on the night of the election and offered to help Donald Trump with his Presidency stating on that phone call he seemed more shocked than she was.

When stern asked Hillary about the inauguration of President Donald Trump, her response was “I went to the inauguration of Donald Trump, which was one of the hardest days of my life. Obviously, I was crushed, I was disappointed an I was really surprised because I couldn’t figure out what had happened.” She said she felt like she had to be there as a former first lady. She was seated next to George W. Bush recalls him saying to her “Well, that was some weird sh*t,” after Trump’s speech at the inauguration.

The pair moved on to talk about Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Clinton started off talking about traveling with him on some trips when she was Secretary of State. “Lindsey was good company, he was funny, he would be self-deprecating. He also believed in climate change back in those days,” she remarked. Stern asked if Graham had “sold his soul to the devil.” “It’s like he had a brain snatch” she replied.

At one point in the interview, Stern asks Hillary if she has ever had a “lesbian affair” to which she replied “Never, never, never. Never even been tempted, thank you very much contrary to what you may hear, I actually like men.” Her response has garnered some criticism from the LGBTQI+ community. Response to the comment from Trish Bendix, an entertainment and LGBTQ reporter, said she was “disappointed” by Clinton’s comments.

“It’s so frustrating when public figures like Hillary feel the need to dispel lesbian rumors in a way that equates lesbianism or queerness with salaciousness, and that’s ultimately what I dislike about the way she phrased it. Specifically the word ‘tempted,’” Bendix told NBC News. “I think there’s a way to refute untrue ideas about one’s own identity without saying something damaging to others.”

Howard Stern flattered Hilliary throughout the interview. He even called her a “hero”. Some are saying if she had only done the interview before the election of 2016 things may have been different.

Howard Stern could possibly be moving back to the left as he mentions that he thinks Hillary Clinton pretty much won the presidential election of 2016 based on the popular vote. This comes after a recent visit with the show ‘The View’ where he hints that he has ‘progressed’ a bit, although he does push back a bit on political correctness. In the past, Stern said he would never again vote for a Democrat, but it is hard to tell now if he holds true to that or not. See Howard Stern earlier this year on “The View” in the video below:
