Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) attempted to destroy the Democrat’s case for impeaching President Trump during the House Judiciary hearing yesterday. Also, Lesko accused the House Democrats of tearing the country apart. She stated, “During an interview on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ on November 26, 2018, you [Nadler] outlined a three-pronged test that you said would allow for a legitimate impeachment proceeding.
‘There are really three questions, I think. First, has the President committed impeachable offenses? Second, do those offenses rise to the gravity that’s worth putting the country through the trauma of an impeachment proceeding? And number three, because you don’t want to tear the country apart…you don’t want half of the country to say to the other half for the next 30 years, we won the election, you stole it from us.’”
She continued, “Well, Chairman Nadler, your own three-pronged test for impeachment has failed on all three counts. First, the evidence and testimony have not revealed any impeachable offenses. Second, there is nothing that rises to the gravity that’s worth putting the country through the trauma of impeachment. You said the evidence needs to be clear. It is not. You said offenses need to be grave. They are not.”

Lesko later commented that the professors who were witnesses for the hearing clear oppose President Trump and that this is a serious constitutional matter, not a law school debate.
The representative also published an editorial in USA Today, which writes that the Democrat’s obsession to rush and impeach the president by the end of the year has resulted in them created a rigged process. “I wouldn’t blame anyone, let alone the president, for being skeptical about this unfair process. Closed-door secret meetings, selectively leaked details, refusing to allow Republican witnesses, and releasing the Schiff report and witness list right before the hearing all indicate an unfair, politically biased ordeal.” Read the rest of her words here.

Lesko has become a rising star in the Republican party for her smart and calculated statements and for frequently appearing on news shows. Lesko won her seat to Congress in a special election in April of 2018 and won re-election in November of 2018 beating her Democratic opponent with over 55% of the vote and by over 30,000 votes.
