‘Idol Worship Isn’t Conservative’ Kinzinger Not Impressed By Gold-Colored CPAC Trump Statue

A gold-colored statue of former President Trump appeared recently at the Conservative Political Action Conference, video of which has been going viral.

As Reuters noted, if there was any doubt that CPAC this year was devoted to Trump, the gold-colored statue of the former president, dressed in a jacket, red tie and Stars-and-Stripes boxing shorts, was on display at the conference site.

In the video, onlookers can be heard describing the statue as “awesome,” “so cool,” and “four more years” as it is pushed by, as well as taking pictures and selfies.

One Republican who is not impressed by the statue is U.S. House Rep Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) who claimed that “Idol worship isn’t conservative.”

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) made it clear that those like Kinzinger were not going to be deciding the direction of the party in a speech at the event.

“Let me tell you something: Donald Trump ain’t going anywhere,” Cruz told the audience today.

From Breitbart:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said Thursday on Fox News he would support Trump as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 2024.

“If the president was the party’s nominee would you support him?” Anchor Bret Baier asked.

“The nominee of the party? Absolutely,” McConnell replied.

Republican Study Committee (RSC) chairman Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) said during a recent interview with Breitbart News that he plans to help flesh out the Trump agenda following his exit from office and use it to push the GOP further in the right direction.

“For too long, the Republican Party was not the party of working people. President Trump made us the party of the working class. If we don’t adapt our Republican Party agenda recognizing that, I don’t think we win elections in 2022 and 2024,” he explained.
