‘It’s Mob Rule’ Ronna McDaniel Decries ‘Hate’ and ‘Vitriol’ Directed at Wayne County GOP Canvassers

GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel appeared tonight on Fox News’ “The Story with Martha MacCallum” tonight and discussed the situation that happened last night with the Wayne County Election Officials.

McDaniel said about what happened in a tweet that “The hate and the vitriol directed at GOP canvassers in Wayne County was horrific. To see them be harassed like that – it’s mob rule!”

McDaniel shared a clip from the interview in the tweet and it begins with MacCallum saying that, “I think that all of us can understand that when this kind of committee gets into an argument of whether or not to certify, but the reaction of these individuals is shocking when you watch that.”

“It’s horrific, it’s bullying, it’s frightening and you know, if you look at what Monica [Palmer] and Bill [Hartmann] were saying and this is an issue in Wayne County,” McDaniel responded.

McDaniel continued, “In 2017 the Lt. Gov. who’s a Democrat said it was a catastrophe that what was happening there because 80% of the precincts did not match, this past summer 72%, this one 71.”

McDaniel explained, “What does that mean? It means, a precinct has to say, these how many absentee ballots we sent out to voters who requested them. So say we sent out 100 and then they get 200 back, how does that happen?”

“You have to align the poll book with how many ballots went out with how many came in, so when 71% in this election don’t match, it means that only 29% worked. That’s a failing grade. They are doing absolutely the right thing not to certify that,” McDaniel stated.

McDaniel concluded with a similar message to how the clip began and said, “To see them be harassed and bullied and attacked, it’s mob rule.”

An Op-Ed in the Detroit Free Press today claimed that “Last night, they tried to steal my vote. Not some nebulous ‘they,’ like you hear about in online conspiracy plots. Two Michiganders, Monica Palmer and Bill Hartmann, Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers.”
