We understand that what the national Democrats do may not be the same as what Democrats in individual cities are doing in some places. This being the case, the rhetoric, or the “narrative”, sometimes pushed by speaking in code or people needing to read in between the lines, has been clear.
The left wants to defund the police, with a few exceptions. President Joe Biden even physically knelt in person before the rioting group called Black Lives Matter, which thinks “All Cops are B——“. Joe Biden doesn’t seem to have any issue with that, although if you ask him directly he’ll say he supports police and just wants reform, not defunding. Meanwhile, cities like Oakland, California continue to shift money away from the police as we reported just today, although some other cities have indeed reversed course from defunding.
Nevertheless, many liberal cities have disappointed Republicans who usually “back the blue” when Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters seem to be able to get away with a lot, giving some Republican activists reason for pause from the blind “back the blue” mantra. Nevertheless, if there is one party that supports the idea of police and law and order over another, it is clearly the GOP, as useless as the GOP is with so many other things.
Biden Administration White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki pushed back on that narrative though, as the Democrat party nationally tries to do damage control. Most reasonable-minded Americans want law and order and to able to call the police if they are robbed or assaulted or burglarized and so on and so forth.
When questioned by Fox News’ Peter Doocy, Jen Psaki claimed that it was Republicans in fact, who want to defund police by not voting for a particular piece of Biden Administration legislation. Curtis Houck tweeted the video clip captioning it:
