Jen Psaki Credits Binge-Watching ‘The West Wing’ For Getting Back Into Politics After Obama Admin Burnout

White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently credited binge-watching “The West Wing” for getting back into politics after burnout working with the Obama Administration.

The comments came from Psaki during an appearance on Rob Lowe’s “Literally!” Lowe was an actor on the NBC drama who played the part of the White House Deputy Communications Director during the first four seasons of the series.

Psaki explained that she had never seen the show before and that after leaving the Obama White House in 2011, “I’m working at this consulting firm and I started watching ‘The West Wing.'”

“And I don’t know what prompted me to watch it, but I binged the entire thing,” Psaki reported.

Psaki noted that before going on her viewing spree, she had been “exhausted” by the work on Obama’s campaign and in the White House, where she served in the same role as Lowe did on the show.

“In a crazy way, (the show) really brought me back to come back to politics and I ended up coming back and doing the 2012 campaign, and traveling with then-President Obama on his reelection,” Psaki continued.

Psaki added, “So I was basically gone for like six months, and then I thought to myself, ‘I’ve got to go back. I’ve got to go back.'”

The admission by Psaki fulfilled an apparent premonition that popular YouTuber and Twitter user “Shoe” recently had.

In January, “Shoe” replied to a tweet about something Psaki had said at the podium and mocked, “fact: if they do not act like quirky characters from an episode of the West Wing every 5 seconds democrats WILL die.”
