Jill Biden appeared to get a little carried away today at a Black History Month event as she introduced Kamala Harris as “President.”
In an apparent attempt to play it off, Jill Biden then told the audience that she did it just to make them “laugh” at the White House event that took place today.
During her introductory remarks, Jill Biden said, “As many of you know, our vice president’s historic path to the White House began before she could even walk, marching with her parents in the Civil Rights movement, or at least being pushed in a stroller.”
“Since then, she has dedicated her life to pursuing justice and opportunity for all. She is a partner to Joe, especially on issues like voting rights, and is proud to be the first, but not the last,” Biden gushed.
Biden then announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the Uni- the Vice President of the- I just said that to make you laugh. The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.”
The audience and Jill Biden roared with laughter as Joe Biden turned to Kamala Harris and then threw his hands up.

As Fox News noted, Joe Biden himself has repeatedly referred to Harris as being above him in the hierarchy.
Oddly enough, a similar “slip” occurred during a commencement address in December at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Joe Biden spoke glowingly of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, touting, “Of course, President Harris is a proud Howard (University) alum.”
Joe Biden also previously “mistakenly” referred to Kamala as President Harris in March 2021, and also referred to her as “President-elect Harris” in December 2020 before he assumed office.
In October 2020, while on the campaign trail, Joe Biden callously said during an introduction, “My name’s Joe Biden, Jill Biden’s husband, and Kamala’s running mate. Y’all think I’m kidding don’t you?”
