Jim Jordan Accuses Pelosi of Hypocrisy After She Refuses to Rule Out Unseating GOP Rep Miller-Meeks, Who Won By 6 Votes

We reported at the end of last November that now U.S. House Rep Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) flipped a long held Democratic seat in Iowa by 6 votes after a recount and she was sworn into Congress on January 3 of this year.

Her opponent in the race, Rita Hart has appealed to the House Administration Committee to investigate the matter and in an interview with Fox News recently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to rule out unseating Miller-Meeks, depending on the results of the investigation.

In a tweet today, U.S. House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) accused Pelosi of hypocrisy not doing so.

“Speaker Pelosi says she’s open to unseating Republican Congresswoman Miller-Meeks. Translation: You’re only allowed to object to an election if you’re a Democrat,” Jordan said.

U.S. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) also recently echoed Jordan’s words in a tweet.

Cotton tagged Miller-Meeks and declared that she “won” and that “Iowa certified her victory.”

“So let’s call this what it is: Nancy Pelosi is trying to steal an election to disenfranchise Iowa voters,” Cotton added.

Miller-Meeks has said that she believes she won fair and square as well.

In a tweet, Miller-Meeks said, “In Iowa, the votes were counted, recounted, and in some cases – recounted again. Now, Rita Hart is asking democrat politicians in DC to elect her because the voters of Iowa did not.”

Miller-Meeks also has asked the committee to dismiss Hart’s request this week, which they denied and are continuing the investigation.
