U.S. House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) was recently selected to the Jan. 6 Select Committee by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
In an appearance with Fox News Host Laura Ingraham, Jordan responded to clips of pundits and Democrat elected officials including U.S. House Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) criticizing his selection by suggesting that “Democrats normalized anarchy” during the summer of 2020.
In a clip that was tweeted this morning by Jordan, Ingraham asked, “Isn’t it fun being so loved? I feel the same way, plainly. Doesn’t it get the warm and fuzzies? Does it really upset you that you are going to be the aunt at the picnic of the January 6th Commission?”
“I tell my colleagues all the time, if the mainstream press and liberal Democrats aren’t saying anything bad about you, then you probably aren’t doing anything any good,” Jordan responded.
As for whether or not he would be allowed on the committee, Jordan wondered, “Since when does the other team’s coach get to determine who gets to play for our team? So we’ll see what happens.”
Jordan continued, “This is about attacking [former] President Trump once again because, frankly Laura, what else [are] they going to talk about?”
Turning his criticism to potential failures in leadership by President Joe Biden, Jordan asserted, “They are going to talk about crime going up in every major city, they are talk about the crisis on the border, they are going to talk about inflation where the price of everything… is [going up]?”
Jordan then explained, “They have to focus on the only thing they know, which is attacking President Trump because he did a good job and they can’t stand that.”
After Ingraham showed the clip of Ocasio-Cortez, Jordan said, it would “be responsible” to “ask the fundamental question: Why there wasn’t a proper security presence and posture that day?”
Jordan then went on to explain that his “hunch” was because of what happened in the summer of 2020 in regards to the Black Lives Matter protests and riots and how the “Democrats Normalized anarchy.”
