U.S. Sen Joe Manchin (D-WV) reaffirmed his endorsement today of U.S. Sen Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and she said that she’ll endorse him “if” he runs again in 2024.
We had reported in April 2021 that Manchin, who endorsed U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) in 2020, was once again stumping for a Republican Senator.
During a joint interview with Murkowski, Manchin said he would her reelection bid in 2022 “in a heartbeat.”
CNN Host Jake Tapper reminded Manchin of his previous endorsement on “State of the Union” in another joint interview
Manchin responded, “I’m endorsing my dear friend Lisa Murkowski. Alaska could only be so lucky to have her continue to serve them.”
After Murkowski thanked him, Manchin added, “She knows I feel that way too, very strongly.”
“If he’s running, I’ll endorse him,” Murkowski later said of Manchin.

While many have been applauding Manchin’s stance on the Build Back Better Act and not giving in to the Filibuster, he has voted with Biden 95% of the time.
Meanwhile, both Murkowski and Collins have voted with Biden over 70% of the time, so it seems pretty clear that Republicans are getting the raw end of the deal.
Murkowski’s primary opponent Kelly Tshibaka has been endorsed by the 45th President Donald Trump.
