Jury Reaches Decision in the case of Ex-Police Officer Kim Potter, Guilty on All Charges

The Jury in the Kim Potter case involving the killing of Daunte Wright has reached a decision. The jury decided Potter was guilty on both charges.

The verdict on the first charge of manslaughter in the first degree was guilty.

The verdict on count two, the charge of manslaughter In the second degree the jury found Potter guilty as well.

Potter claimed she grabbed her gun instead of her taser while trying to detain Daunte Wright, who was trying to flee from being arrested by police in Brooklyn, MN.

The video below shows the body cam of another officer after Wright was accidentally shot and fled from police.

Potter will be sentenced at a later date, initially the judge revoked bail and her defense argued against holding her in jail while she awaits sentencing however the judge stuck by her initial decision.

This story will be updated as more information comes out.

UPDATE 3:05 PM EST: Prosecutors will be seeking enhanced sentencing which will push for more than the standard 12 years she is facing for both counts.
