It appears that even NASA has turned “woke” as Vice President Kamala Harris visited America’s civil space program and the global leader in space exploration to see their “Vital Climate Science Work.”
Harris received a firsthand look at how the nation’s space program “studies climate change and provides crucial information to understand our planet’s changes and their impacts on our lives” during her visit, according to a press release.
A clip that was first shared by the GOP’s Jake Schneider shows Harris taking in a presentation and responding to what was being presented.
The vice president asked, “Can you measure trees, part of that data that you are referring to – EJ – environmental justice, that you can also track by race their averages in terms of the number of trees in the neighborhoods where people live?”

In the press release, Harris is quoted as having said, “I truly believe space activity is climate action. Space activity is education. Space activity is also economic growth.”
“It is also innovation and inspiration. And it is about our security and our strength,” Harris insisted.
Harris added, “When it comes to our space activity, there is limitless potential. … So, as we go forth from here, let us continue to seize the opportunity of space.”
NASA Administrator and former U.S. Sen Bill Nelson (D-FL) said of the visit, “Our NASA experts today provided us a sweeping look at the many ways we need to understand our planet better, from drought and urban heat, to our oceans and the many landscapes we can see changing from the heavens.”
“The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to making real progress on the climate crisis to benefit the next generation, and NASA is at the heart of that work,” Nelson explained.
Nelson was defeated in the 2018 election by U.S. Sen Rick Scott (R-FL), but it appears that he has found a new way to still influence policy after being appointed to the post by President Joe Biden.
