According to TMZ, Ye (Kanye) West has hired the lawyer who represented Johnny Depp during his defamation hearing, Camille Vasquez, and the Brown Rudnick firm.
Vasquez made headlines across the globe for representing Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard in a defamation lawsuit.
Vasquez used her skills as a lawyer to deliver Depp a win in his pursuit to clear his name from allegations made by his ex-wife.
TMZ has reported, “Camille will be among a group of attorneys representing Kanye’s business interests — contracts, deals, the works.”
They will not be representing him in his divorce from Kim Kardashian. For that, he has hired Melinda Gates’s divorce attorney, Bob Cohen to represent him. They are set to go to trial unless they can come to an agreement by December.
Kanye has been making headlines left and right. He stirred up controversy by wearing a shirt that read ‘White Lives Matter’ at a Yeezy fashion show.
He also made comment about the death of George Floyd insinuating that Floyd died from a Fentanyl overdose. Floyd’s family has since sent a cease and desist letter to West over the comments. They have also threatened to sue West.
Balenciaga has dropped the artist after comments he made were deemed anti-semitic.
While some, such as Candace Owens have come to his defense much of the media seems to be moving in an effort to cancel Ye.
