Kathy Griffin ‘Still Scared’, Seeks Coronavirus Test and Claims ‘Dr Says Now Impossible Anywhere But ICU’

We thought the Kathy Griffin story was over after she was diagnosed with an abdominal infection and discharged. Sunday though, she tweeted out again with new accusations and saying that she’s “still scared.”

How r U guys feeling physically today? Hope I’m on the mend but still scared. My Dr says #covid19 testing now impossible anywhere but ICU. It’s been in my G.I. I’m terrified it will travel up to my respiratory system. Any Drs out there know bout legit #coronavirus antibody tests?

Although there is some evidence that these issues could be related to the Coronavirus, it is extremely unlikely that she wouldn’t have had other symptoms by now.

About one in 10 Coronavirus patients experiences gastrointestinal symptoms, including diarrhea and nausea, according to a previous Business Insider report.

A study on The Lancet reported that only 3% of Chinese patients had diarrhea. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 5% of people suffer from nausea.

The new study shows that the number may be higher than previously thought and that up to half of patients may have gastrointestinal problems along with respiratory symptoms.

Often, these patients also develop common symptoms such as shortness of breath, fever, or cough. Only about 3% of the studied cases have only gastrointestinal symptoms.
