It was reported today that with a four-day estimated opening of $156 million, “Top Gun: Maverick” has surpassed “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” for the highest Memorial Day weekend opening ever.
Even Top Gun 2’s three-day opening of $126.7 million ranks fourth-highest among all films released in the U.S. since theaters reopened, The Wrap noted.
Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany voiced her praise for the movie in a quote tweet of Clay Travis today who reported that “‘Top Gun: Maverick’ just set an all time Memorial Day box office record as a pro America, woke free movie is electrifying audiences nationwide.”
McEnany announced, “I saw ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ yesterday. Every showing was selling out at the theater I went to.”
“It is unapologetically pro-America and shows what unfathomable bravery and incomparable talent our military has. Wow!” McEnany declared.
McEnany added that she is “Not surprised it is breaking records…”

As we reported yesterday, the film’s lead actor Tom Cruise notched his first career $100 million opening with the total.
In addition, it was reported that Paramount Pictures currently has no plans to show the sequel in theaters in China.
Chinese tech giant Tencent has reportedly backed out of a 12.5% investment in the film over fears that Communist Party officials would disapprove of their involvement in a movie lionizing the U.S. military.
