Kayleigh McEnany Says Lori Lightfoot Should Have Focused on Crime Rather Than Calling Her a ‘Karen’ After Lightfoot Loses Reelection

Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany took a victory lap last night after Lori Lightfoot lost her bid for reelection as the Mayor of Chicago.

McEnany appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show to discuss the election defeat and said that Lightfoot should have focused on crime rather than calling her a “Karen.”

McEnany also unearthed the tweet that Lightfoot made in July 2020 where she called the then White House press secretary a “Karen” and responded to it in a quote tweet after her appearance on the show.

At the time, Lightfoot had shared a tweet from journalist Brian Bennett who had said, “White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany just called Lori Lightfoot ‘the derelict Mayor of Chicago’ and said she should request federal help to secure the city.”

Lightfoot declared at the time, “Hey, Karen. Watch your mouth.” In response last night, McEnany shot back, “This didn’t age well, Lori!”

McEnany then shared a clip from her appearance on Hannity’s show in a separate tweet where she reported, “Lori Lightfoot lost her election.”

“Perhaps she should have woken up when I referred to her as the ‘derelict mayor of Chicago’ from the White House podium for ignoring victims of crime in her city!” McEnany suggested.

McEnany reiterated, “Instead, she said ‘Hey, Karen. Watch your mouth.'”

In the clip, McEnany also mocked Lightfoot for a recent TikTok video that had shown her dancing in the streets and said that her moves “weren’t good.”
