Kellyanne Conway Expects Trump Will Announce Presidential Run ‘Soon’, Gives Him ‘A Ton of Credit’ For not Doing so Before Midterms

Kellyanne Conway appears to be the go-to person for the media to discuss when former President Donald Trump might announce another presidential run.

This time, Conway was asked by National Journal’s Zac Weisz, “When will Trump announce his 2024 presidential bid?”

Conway told Weisz that Trump would have liked to have already done so, but “I give him a ton of credit for not announcing this year, for not stepping in the way of midterm candidates”

“I think you can expect him to announce soon,” Conway added.

Conway pointed out that “unlike Joe Biden,” Trump was in “high demand” during the 2018 midterms.

Joe Biden “certainly isn’t welcome in most places and spaces” Conway pointed out in regard to how most Democratic candidates rarely mention him.

Conway also told Weisz that she believes waiting until after the midterm elections will be a boost for Trump, based on the expected red wave.

As we previously reported last month, Conway discussed with CBS News about the possible announcement from former President Trump about running to be the Republican nominee for president in 2024.

CBS News’ Catherine Herridge probed Conway on her thoughts about what Trump is thinking and planning to do.

Conway shared, “I think once those midterms are done, President Trump can assess the timing of his announcement. I will tell you why he wants to run for president. Donald Trump wants his old job back.”

She had also sat down with Herridge in July as well at that time Conway shared, “My advice to the president privately is my advice to him publicly, which is, ‘If you want to announce, wait until right after the midterms.'”
