Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates gave a statement for The White House on the report released by Tucker Carlson on January 6th.
“We agree with the chief of the Capitol Police and the wide range of bipartisan lawmakers who have condemned this false depiction of the unprecedented, violent attack on our Constitution and the rule of law — which cost police officers their lives.”
“We also agree with what Fox News’s own attorneys and executives have now repeatedly stressed in multiple courts of law: that Tucker Carlson is not credible”
The second part of the statement refers to a 2020 lawsuit referred to a lawsuit in which Fox News’ lawyers argued that Carlson engages ins rhetorical hyperbole and opinion.
During the White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Carlson’s report and a lawsuit that is ongoing with Dominion voting systems Fox News.
KJP answered, “We agree with the chief of police and the wide range of bipartisan lawmakers… We have condemned this false depiction.”
“As it relates to the Tucker Carlson question, we agree with Fox Nation’s own attorneys and executives… that Tucker Carlson is not creditable when it comes to this issue in particular.”
KJP went on to cite articles that back up her claim, that Tucker Carlson isn’t credible, lumping in Sean Hannity as well. She added that to say what he said was just “shameful”.
Carlson has sent many on both sides into a tizzy. Many in Washington D.C. are not pleased with the videos Carlson shared from January 6th and his accompanying statement comments as it takes away from the “official” narrative of January 6th.
