LeBron James Says He’s No Longer a Dallas Cowboys Fan Due to Jerry Jones’ Anthem Kneeling Stance

The leader of the 0-5 Los Angeles Lakers found time on Thursday night to announce on Instagram Live that he’s no longer a Dallas Cowboys fan due to owner Jerry Jones’ Anthem kneeling stance.

James was asked if he was still a Cowboys fan and he said that he was no longer a fan of the team and that he is now a supporter of his hometown Cleveland Browns.

When asked about his loyalty to the team that he was often seen on the sidelines of during games previously, James responded, “Nah man I had to sit put on the Cowboys man.”

“It just a lot of things that were going on when guys were kneeling, guys had freedom of speech and wanted to do it in a very peaceful manner,” James continued.

James explained, “A lot of people in their front office, a lot of people running the organization was like, ‘If you do that around here, then you will never play for this franchise again.’ I didn’t think that was appropriate.”

In 2017, Jones said, “Respecting the flag has been in place with the Cowboys organization since I got here, nearly 28 years ago.”

As Sports Illustrated noted, the Browns have had its own organizational criticism recently after the team’s decision to trade for, and pay handsomely, quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has been accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct.

James did, however, say that he was still close with several players on the Cowboys team including Ezekiel Elliott.

“I’m all in on the Browns,” James declared.
