Legendary NFL Quarterback Tom Brady Calls it a Career After 22 Seasons and 7 Super Bowl Victories

Update 2/1/2022: Tom Brady officially announces his retirement in a nine-part tweet:

Update: Brady’s company deleted a tweet thanking him for “it all” and it has now been reported that Brady hasn’t completely made up his mind yet.

Surefire Hall of Fame quarterback and perhaps the greatest ever, Tom Brady, is retiring after 22 seasons and 7 Super Bowl victories after his current team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday.

Sources said that following that loss, Brady knew it was likely his final act as a football player and in the days since he has spent time digesting that mindset and is preparing his retirement announcement along with the next chapter of his life and career.

Brady once also made headlines for the prime placement of a Make America Great Again hat in the locker room while he was with the New England Patriots, as he said that he and Donald Trump were friends.

Trump also declared at a rally in New Hampshire after the 2016 election that Brady called him and said, “I voted for you.”

TB12Sports, which is his company, tweeted out some of his most exemplary statistics from over the years and thanked him.

“7 Super Bowl Rings. 5 Super Bowl MVPs. 3 League MVP Awards. 22 Incredible Seasons. Thank you for it all, @TomBrady.”

The NFL simply tweeted out the word “GOAT” along with #ThankYouTom and a portrait of Brady flashing his Super Bowl rings.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news in a tweet, which seems fitting as he began his career on the national football media stage not long after Brady rose to stardom.

“Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 extraordinary seasons, multiple sources tell @JeffDarlington and me,” Schefter reported.
