Liberal Rag ‘The New Republic’ Deletes ‘Evil’ Tweet About Senator

The New Republic describes themselves as “a magazine of interpretation and opinion in a rapidly changing world.” Today they rapidly deleted a “cruel, evil and dehumanizing” tweet about Senator Joni Ernst following backlash.

Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders retweeted the original tweet and then tweeted a screenshot of the tweet, saying, “It’s disgraceful but not at all surprising to see the liberal mob come after yet another strong conservative woman.

“I stand with US Senator Joni Ernst – a mom, veteran, and survivor – against the cruel, evil and dehumanizing attacks from the liberal mob,” she continued.

Ernst also shared a screenshot of the tweet after it was deleted and said, “I’m used to vile partisan attacks, it comes with the job. I’m saddened that this article may silence or shame other survivors. For anyone in an abusive situation, know help is out there.”

She also shared the number for the National Domestic Abuse Hotline: 1−800−799−7233, and offered the website for more resources: https://thehotline.org.

The magazine issued a new tweet with the article attached and this time tagged the author, saying, “Kerry Howley on the collapse of Senator Joni Ernst’s brand under Trump, and her increasingly difficult path to reelection.”

A screenshot under the new tweet shows the original tweet as having been retweeted with a quote 381 times versus only 27 likes, which indicates the extent of the outrage.

The title of the article, “Behind Every Republican Man,” suggests that Ernst is in the shadow of President Trump and suggests that there is a pattern of misogyny.
