Establishment South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is betraying his base yet again as he is reportedly helping Joe Biden get his judicial picks through the Senate.

While Graham was a staunch supporter of Brett Kavanaugh’s “controversial” confirmation onto the Supreme Court during the Trump administration, he has now become a strong supporter of Biden’s judicial picks. While Graham was a key figure in stopping Attorney General Merrick Garland from being confirmed onto the Supreme Court in 2016, he has had a sudden change in his politics.
While Biden’s judicial picks may not be as crucial as a Supreme Court justice seat, Graham is assisting Biden in adding possible liberals or RINOs to the courts across the country. These, in turn, will hurt conservatives in the future when trying to win a key case as a Biden-appointed judge could make a costly ruling.
Graham’s office released a statement saying, “Senator Graham has long believed that under the Constitution the president has the right to select judges of their choosing and as long as they are qualified, they should generally be confirmed by the Senate.”
Though he has voted against some of Biden’s more radical picks, Senator Graham is surely not putting up the fight that most of his base would probably want from him.
We will have to see if Graham is successfully primaried in 2026 or if he decides not to run as he appears to be falling out of favor with former President Donald Trump and possibly his own base.
