Lindsey Graham Speaks Out After Day 2 of Trump’s Impeachment Trial: The ‘Not Guilty’ Vote is Growing

While one Republican Senator joined the other five who had originally decided that Trump’s impeachment trial was constitutional because of a strong early presentation by the House Managers, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) tweeted out yesterday that he felt things were going in the opposite direction with the rest now that the trial has begun.

Following the conclusion of day two of the trial, Graham said that he believes “The ‘Not Guilty’ vote is growing after today.”

“I think most Republicans found the presentation by the House Managers offensive and absurd,” Graham explained.

Left-wing verified Twitter users and members of the Lincoln Project jumped on Graham’s tweet and pushed back, seizing on an opportunity where they believe they have the upper hand.

Invoking the Senate impeachment trial of former President Bill Clinton for obstruction of justice, Brian Tyler Cohen responded, “You led Bill Clinton’s impeachment for lying about a blowjob.”

The Lincoln Project committee member David Weissman replied that he thinks, “What’s offensive and absurd is the fact that you are defending domestic terrorism not the United States Constitution.”

Executive director at the Lincoln Project Fred Wellman weighed in and called the tweet “Disgusting.” and added, “You can’t even pretend to show respect for the Americans that died or were injured. You’re just a smug spineless coward.”

Speaking with Sean Hannity last night on Fox News, Graham, however, said “We all know what happened in the Capitol was terrible. I hope everybody involved that broke into the Capitol goes to jail.”
