Lori Lightfoot Credits Being Fully Vaccinated & Boosted For Feeling ‘Fine’ After Positive COVID-19 Test

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is the latest Democrat elected official to announce that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

Lightfoot made the announcement yesterday in a two-part tweet, where she credited being fully vaccinated and boosted for feeling “fine” despite the positive test.

“Earlier today, I tested positive for COVID-19. I am experiencing cold-like symptoms but otherwise feel fine which I credit to being vaccinated and boosted,” Lightfoot reported in the tweet.

Lightfoot then noted her plans following the positive test and said, “I will continue to work from home while following the CDC guidelines for isolation.”

“This is an urgent reminder for folks to get vaccinated and boosted as it’s the only way to beat this pandemic,” Lightfoot concluded.

Lightfoot received a number of critical responses from both those critical of her statement and also from the left after she rejected a remote learning proposal in city schools.

One left-wing Twitter user told Lightfoot, “You should work in a Chicago Public School instead of at home, I’ve heard lots about how safe they are even if you’re infected with COVID-19. Even safer than working from home.”

Another left-wing Twitter user, Jenni Reed responded, “Hmmmm maybe why teachers wanted remote learning.”

“She was even taking way more precautions than she’s allowing teachers,” another left-wing user with a hammer and sickle in their Twitter name replied to Reed and also added a laughing face emoji.

As for those who were critical of her statement, “Tom Paluch” explained, “I tested positive while triple jabbed everyone please get the vax, can’t make this sh*t up man.”
