Lori Lightfoot Threatens To Take Trump to Court and Encourages Citizens to Call 911 on Federal Agents ‘If Something Doesn’t Look Right’

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot held a press conference today following a mass shootout last night in the city. She also again addressed President Trump’s plans to send federal troops in attempt to quell the violence.

During the press conference, she encouraged citizens to call 911 on federal agents if they “see something that doesn’t look right.” She also said that she would not “hesitate to take the President to court.”

Lightfoot also accused the president of misogyny by saying that Trump was attacking primarily Democratic women mayors: “Do you see a common theme here?”

She claimed that the cycle of violence was due to poverty where people felt they had no choice but to join the gangs in the city. She said that they should not shelter the shooters in the city and called them cowards.

From Fox News:

Even as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was accusing President Trump of trying to “terrorize” her city by sending in federal forces to quell skyrocketing crime, bullets were flying Tuesday evening outside a South Side funeral home in a shocking fusillade of gunfire that left at least 15 people wounded.

Lightfoot’s Twitter message vowing to bar the feds and referring to the Trump administration as a “dictatorship” went out almost simultaneously as the drive-by attack, and on a day when a number of other shootings occurred elsewhere in the city.

“Under no circumstances will I allow Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents,” Lightfoot wrote.

“We do not welcome dictatorship,” the mayor added in a newspaper interview.
