Marjorie Taylor Greene Will Join GOP Rep. Mo Brooks to Challenge the Certification of Electoral College Votes

Today, it was reported that Alabama GOP congressman Mo Brooks said he will challenge the certification of the electoral college votes when Congress plans to certify the results on January 6.

In order to force Congress to bring the matter to a vote, one senator and one House representative must challenge the electorate, though Brooks said he has had no direct communication with any senator thus far.

Incoming GOP Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene confirmed in a tweet however that she had “just met with Brooks” and that she told him she’s “onboard 100%!” She also tagged President Trump in the post.

AL.com said the Alabama Republican told them in a phone interview that “In my judgment, based on what I know to be true, Joe Biden was the largest beneficiary of illegally cast votes in the history of the United States.”

“I can either ratify that illegal vote system, or I can object to it, in hopes that our election system will become more secure in future elections,” Brooks added.

The objection comes just weeks after Brooks spoke on the House floor, where he highlighted that Congress certifies the election.

OAN quoted him as saying in the speech, “Earlier I cited constitutional and federal law mandating that Congress, not the Supreme Court, determines whether to accept or reject electoral college votes and Congress, not the Supreme Court, has the final verdict on presidential elections.”

In a tweet, Brooks shared the video and said, “In my most recent House Floor speech, I share my personal experience as a voter fraud & election theft target when, in 1982, as a Republican candidate for Alabama House District 18, Democrats sought to steal the election by rigging voting machines.”
