Former Today Show host, Matt Lauer, who was fired without severance from NBC, is ready to drop the dirt on the people he feels abandoned him. Lauer was fired amid a sexual assault scandal. A colleague claimed he sexually assaulted her, he was fired in 2017.
Five years later, Lauer feels now is a good time for him to drop his tell-all. It has been some time since his firing maybe now he will garner more sympathy, he may be surprised.
After his firing Lauer stayed out of the spotlight and kept quiet. According to Ok! Magazine’s source Lauer, “will spare no truth about the people he feels have betrayed him”. Sounds like this tell-all will be his revenge on those who wouldn’t stand up for him.
The source predicts, though he may not be able to take down Guthrie because of her popularity, “she’ll be worth a mention at least”.
The insider added, “He’s already plotting out the book. Matt will pick his targets carefully, but he figures he has no chance of making a TV comeback and has nothing to lose by getting his revenge.” They seem correct that Lauer really has no chance at a TV comeback, most people still remember him for the terrible way his Today career ended more so than his time as a Today Show host.
The only people he has talked to over the last five years appears to be those he felt were on his side, an insider said, “He just stays to himself, he doesn’t really reach out to people very much anymore or engage them and so he’s been losing touch with a lot of people. When he left the Today show, he didn’t get paid a penny after he got fired. NBC stuck with that. He’s presumably sitting on mountains of money but then again, he had a lot of money in real estate. He only wants to talk to people who are gonna take his side. “He still feels like he got railroaded.”
Lauer’s tell-all could be an interesting read. It is being alleged that he will go after, controversial guests of the Today Show such as Tom Cruise.
We will have to wait and see what comes of all of this.
