Newly elected US House Rep Mike Garcia (R-CA) who took the seat back from Democrat Katie Hill after a scandal sent her career spiraling has just made an important statement.
After at least seven Congressmen in the GOP have announced they will not support Josh Hawley (MO) and Ted Cruz (TX) in the Senate and Mo Brooks (AL) in the House, Garcia has joined the list of those who will. In his memo, he notes that he isn’t seeking to overturn an election, but rather seeking to ensure the election itself was done properly.
“In at least six consequential swing states, state election laws were fundamentally altered by bureaucrats outside of the state legislatures and in contravention of the explicit power granted to those state legislatures by the Federal Constitution” his memo reads in part.
Garcia’s statement continues: “This is in violation of the Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 and Article 1, section 4 of the Federal Constitution and the processes set forth for directing the selection of electors and managing elections. There is no grey area in this regard.”
Garcia, who is new to Congress as we previously stated, is part of a growing list of at least 140 Republicans in the US House planning to object to the certification of Joe Biden as president. He is sure to make a name for himself here, and many are doing so by choosing one side or another.
Regardless of what happens with the presidential election and the upcoming US Senate runoff race in Georgia, many will make or break their careers in our view, because of President Trump’s amazingly high popularity within the GOP.
He continues on with his statement:
“In this case, the respective state legislatures and attorneys general have failed the nation by allowing such porous and compromised processes and so much doubt to prevail and be left unchecked.
These doubts now fall in the lap of Congress to adjudicate. The dereliction of duty by 6 states was a disservice to both Presidential candidates. And it was an affront on our entire national pride and our founding documents.”

Yesterday, we also reported about another US House Rep named Bob Good (R-VA) who will also object to Joe Biden’s certification. He replaced another Republican named Denver Riggleman, but many could argue that Riggleman was almost a Democrat in disguise. We wrote in part:
Outgoing Congressman for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, Denver Riggleman (R) received an endorsement from President Trump before the local Republicans chose to nominate Republican and Christian Conservative Bob Good instead of Riggleman to replace him in his then-upcoming re-election race.
Once it was clear that Bob Good was the nominee, President Trump then endorsed him over the Democrat as well. Nonetheless, many locals and others who follow that district know that Denver, although he pretended to warm up to President Trump with photo ops and tweets, was not a Trump guy.
Tomorrow will bring results for the Georgia US Senate runoff race, and the day after that the Congress will convene to attempt to certify Joe Biden as the next president. We will what happens over the next couple of days and report as we are able to.
These upcoming events could change the course of the United States as we know it in many ways.
