Mitt Romney Tells CNN He’s ‘Open’ to Supporting Biden’s SCOTUS Pick While Criticizing Trump, MTG, and Paul Gosar in the Same Interview

U.S. Sen Mitt Romney (UT) said today that he is “open” to supporting Joe Biden’s Supreme Court pick, Kentanji Brown Jackson.

Romney’s sentiment came while criticizing the 45th President Donald Trump as well as U.S. House Reps Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ) in the same interview.

Co-Host Dana Bash asked him about whether or not he was “open” to voting “yes” on Brown Jackson’s nomination.

Romney responded by saying that he was “open” to supporting her and that he would do a “deep dive” into her credentials.

When it came to members of his own party, however, Romney was less generous as Bash asked him about Trump and MTG and Gosar’s appearance at the America First Political Action Conference.

Romney told Bash that Trump’s 2019 phone call with Zelensky was a “very sad and awful exchange on the part of our president.”

After applauding statements from U.S. House Rep Liz Cheney (WY) and RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, Romney described the MTG and Gosar as “morons.”

“I don’t know them, but I’m reminded of the old line from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance movie where one character says, ‘Morons, I’ve got morons on my team’ and I have to think anybody that would sit down with white nationalists and speak at their conference was certainly missing a few IQ points,” Romney insisted.
