Newly-elected Republican Delegate Tim Anderson today shared a picture of a moving truck at the Virginia Executive mansion where Dem Gov. Ralph Northam is to be replaced by GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
Although Northam was going to have to exit after one term regardless, many had expected Dem Terry McAuliffe to take his place.
That all changed in November, however, when a red wave swept the state, also leading to Republicans retaking the House of Delegates.
Anderson was a big part of that flip as he won a seat that was previously occupied by Democratic Delegate Nancy Guy, who he defeated.
“Best picture of 2021 – the moving truck in front of the Executive Mansion today,” Anderson said about the picture.
Anderson responded to an inquiry about the picture, “It would have been better if it was a trash truck.”
Northam announced today that he believes the time capsule has been located after the base of the Robert E. Lee Statue was removed in Richmond.
“They found it! This is likely the time capsule everyone was looking for. Conservators studying it—stay tuned for next steps! (Won’t be opened today),” Northam declared.
