MSNBC ‘Morning Joe’ Co-Hosts Condescendingly Accuse the Canadian Trucker ‘Freedom Convoy’ of Being a ‘Cult’

This morning, MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough condescendingly accused the Canadian trucker “Freedom Convoy” of being a “cult.”

In a clip that was tweeted out, Brzezinski began by referencing a report that claimed the truckers harrassed a soup kitchen in Ottawa because restaurants wouldn’t serve them which “put a strain” on the system.

Scarborough ultimately suggested that right-wingers in the past would “make fun of left-wingers on the west coast for being loopy anti-vaxxers.”

“Now they have met the enemy, and the enemy, their enemy, is themselves,” Scarborough insisted as Brzezinski agreed: “Yes.”

The whole time that Scarborough was speaking, Brzezinski was sighing and shaking her head with her arms folded in disapproval.

“They’ve become what they hated, they’ve become what they mocked, and now they are taking food from soup kitchens because they are so put upon for being asked to do what they’ve been asked to do, required to do their entire lives,” Scarborough continued.

Brzezinski attempted to cut him off and interjected, “Coming up” but Scarborough wasn’t finished as he added with emphasis “It’s. A. Cult.”

“Yes, it is,” Brzezinski agreed before finally moving on.

U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) tweeted out in response to the co-hosts, “No one who works for MSNBC has any right to accuse people of being in a cult.”

It is certainly possible that Donald Trump triggered the co-hosts to make that accusation as he declared at his Texas rally over the weekend, “We are with them all the way!”
