JD Vance, the author of Hillbilly Elegy and looked up to as the possible future of the right by many “populist Inc” conservatives, was recently at a speech, apparently in Warren County, OH. He addressed the Warren County Republicans at the end of the speech. Vance recently (sort of) apologized for his previous anti-Donald Trump rhetoric.
Vance has been affiliated with the New York Times and CNN. Vance was recently accused of paying people $15,000 a month via a PAC to “astroturf” support for him on the internet as well. He and his supporters may deny that the money was for astroturfing.
But if you pay attention to Twitter, most of the people who praise JD Vance appear to have an agenda and there is not a lot of organic enthusiasm.
Vance is running out of Ohio for U.S. Senate as a Republican. He wants the pro-Trump crowd to support him, but he voted for Evan McMullin in 2016.
A bold Trump-supporting woman at this speech confronted Vance about his history of being anti-Trump, even if he claims to be pro-Trump now. She makes the argument that people like him aren’t how we will win, but why we have lost in the past. Brigitte Gabriel of ACT for America posted the clip, captioning it:

Time will tell if Vance gets an endorsement from Donald Trump to run for U.S. Senate, or if it will be Josh Mandel, someone else, or no one.
