After weeks, months arguably, of many demanding that Vice President Kamala Harris visit the Southern U.S.-Mexico border, she finally caved and said she will visit. This came after former President Trump said he would be visiting the border himself. Since Trump’s announcement, it has now been reported that various GOP officials will meet with him on the visit, in addition to the originally planned meeting with Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
Yesterday, in a press conference, Fox News’ Peter Doocy challenged the Biden administration on this news by grilling White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki with the obvious question.
“So about today’s announcement. Why is the Vice President visiting the border this week when earlier this month, she dismissed a trip like that, saying it would be ‘a grand gesture.” asked Doocy:
Peter Doocy further grilled Psaki saying that he can replay the VP’s disastrous NBC interview where she downplayed any potential importance for visiting the border herself as well. “Why is the Vice President visiting the border this week…?” asked Doocy. “While as a part of her assignment she was, of course, posted a number of bilateral assignments,… she was always going to assess.. when it was the appropriate time to go,” Psaki said.
There was no direct addressing of whether or not Kamala is going now because Trump is going. Many will likely draw the correlation though. Time will tell how this disastrous situation plays out. Meanwhile, 24 GOP members are calling to censure Joe Biden for failing at the border and claiming Harris doing practically nothing about the humanitarian crisis there.

She went on further, backing her claims with some data, “the results of Biden’s mismanagement is staggering. From 1,400 children in HHS custody under President Trump to 22,000 unaccompanied minors in Joe Biden’s custody.” She went on, “under President Trump, only three known murderers tried to cross our southern border last year. Under Joe Biden, we’ve already seen at least 40 known murderers try to enter our country.”…
…“But it’s not funny, this administration has not lifted a finger to end this crisis and secure our southern border. They must be held accountable, and that’s why today I am proud to lead my colleagues in filing a bill to censure Joe Biden. For his dereliction of duty in failing to secure the southern homeland. He has refused to enforce the laws that Congress has passed to secure our border. He has refused to visit the border. His border czar Kamala has failed to visit the border. His secretary of homeland security is lying to the American people by saying our border is closed.”…
