Peter Doocy Stumps Jen Psaki Before She Admits Kamala Harris Flouted CDC COVID Rules Due to Her ‘Important Role In… Overseeing the Confirmation of the First Black Woman to the Supreme Court’

Fox News’ Peter Doocy once again was able to back Jen Psaki into a corner today, stumping the White House press secretary at her daily press briefing.

Psaki ultimately ended up admitting that Kamala Harris flouted CDC COVID guidelines due to her “Important role in… overseeing the confirmation of the first black woman to the Supreme Court.”

As the Daily Mail noted, Harris was deemed a close contact to COVID this week after her communications director, Jamal Simmons, tested positive.

Simmons, who announced his positive COVID diagnosis on Wednesday, was at a Tuesday event, along with Kamala Harris, at the White House marking the one-year anniversary of the Affordable Healthcare Act.

After running down a section of the CDC guidelines, Doocy asked Psaki “Why is (Harris) here at the White House today giving the new Supreme Court Justice a big hug with no mask?”

Psaki shot back, “You mean when she gave her a hug outside?”

“Yes,” Doocy responded, to which Psaki emphasized, “She was outside.”

“Does the CDC say that people who are ‘close contact’ can give people hugs outside?” Doocy wondered.

Psaki dodged the question and instead lectured, “We know Peter, that outside… You can benefit significantly from being outside that’s why we had the event outside today. I will tell you that the vice president has been wearing a mask inside, when there was a private greet they were all wearing masks.”

“(Harris) was not wearing a mask yesterday at the senate,” Doocy pointed out.

Stumped Psaki did her best to defend Harris by explaining to Doocy, “She was, uh, playing an important role in confirming or overseeing the confirmation of the first black woman to the Supreme Court… the vast majority… She was socially distanced from people for the vast, vast majority for time overseeing that confirmation.”
