‘Police Are a Threat to Public Safety in Every Community’ Claims VA Democratic Socialist State Rep. Who Gets Called Out By Attorney

Democrat Lee Carter is a marine veteran who is the representative for Virginia’s 50th House District. In his Twitter bio, he says, “Ask me about Socialism” and was endorsed by the Democratic Socialists.

In a string of recent tweets, he retweets left-wing Twitter accounts who complain about the treatment of people who engaged police last night during unrest in Philadelphia, New York City, and Richmond, VA.

The incidents stemmed from the killing by Philadelphia police of a man advancing towards them armed with a knife.

The message that Carter posted with each retweet was “Police are a threat to public safety in every community.”

Virginia Attorney Tim Anderson posted a screenshot of one of the retweets and Carter’s profile on his firm’s Facebook page and said, “Your Democratic Party of Virginia.”

Many were upset with what Carter said and he retweeted some of the responses he got to the tweet while mocking their responses or the people themselves.

“Proud supporter of the US military” Sandi Dranchak said, “As a veteran and a Marine with that stance, you’re a complete disgrace to this country and the uniform.”

Carter retweeted that response and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m afraid I have no choice but to abandon everything I believe and start cheering for the cops who violate people’s human rights.”

Trump supporter “Patriot017392” said “You are a threat scum” and Carter retweeted, and replied, “Pretty sure I’m not the one beating people, that’s the cops.”

One Twitter user deleted their account after Carter retweeted a tweet where he said, “And you are a threat to Democracy if you think that way” and Carter replied “Ah yes, that fundamental component of democracy: police brutality.”

One user, “Ivan” was very upset with Carter and sent him a private message as well as replying to one the tweets by saying, “Lemme know where you at so I can run up on your sorry a** an whoop that a** pussy.”

Carter taunted him back in his retweet, saying, “Just another ‘rule of law’ type casually threatening elected officials on this here website” after calling him a “chud” while sharing a screenshot of the private message.
