Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Does a 180, Goes After Antifa ‘Unmask Them, Arrest Them and Prosecute Them’

Democratic Mayor of Portland, Oregon Ted Wheeler, made a surprising statement in which he reversed his past rhetoric on Antifa and went after the group urging citizens to report them to the police.

With riots destroying the city in the summer of 2020, and even more riots/protests underway following multiple police shootings, Portland is once again a hotspot of what some call “domestic terrorism” from Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

We previously reported on how Mayor Wheeler called some of the previous violence in the city “white supremacists” which many felt was far from the truth. “Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler (D-OR) of Portland has recently tweeted today that the city of Portland should prepare for violence from white supremacists. He says Oregon will be a “flashpoint” of violence. Below is one piece of his thread regarding election violence coming after the election.

Trump supporters have recently received criticism for some rallies in which one car rammed into another on a highway, which some believe an anti-Trumper instigated it based on the video.

The Mayor has refused to do much about the far-left violence dominating the streets every night. However, he feels the need for the state to prepare for “white supremacist” violence which has been very little in our view in the city.”

However, trying to appease Antifa didn’t seem to work as we reported, “Antifa members and activists cornered Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler (D-OR) in a video that came out this morning and accused him of gassing them which they say will affect them for the rest of their lives. Below you can see the 47-second clip of the confrontation between Mayor Wheeler and Antifa.

The Mayor was out to eat at breakfast when Antifa confronted him and began accusing him. However, Wheeler practically let Antifa do what they want this summer as protests and riots broke out in our view, with few exceptions.

Mayor Wheeler was one of the first mayors to ban the use of tear gas in the city and the police use pepper spray, not tear gas, as it was mentioned in the tweet by Post Millenial’s Ian Miles Cheong. Wheeler for the first time fully denounced the violence from Antifa in a video statement that came as surprising to some as he waited a long time to do so.

He said, “My good faith efforts at de-escalation have been met with ongoing violence and even scorn from radical Antifa and anarchists.”

Wheeler has been one of the most lenient Mayors with Antifa and BLM. Mayor Wheeler blamed Trump supporters for the violence until yesterday. Now, he is being confronted by his own side.”

After he was confronted by them, his attitude appears to have changed towards Antifa as he went after Antifa this week, “I’ve extended the state of emergency through the weekend. Our job is to unmask them, arrest them, and prosecute them,”.

He also said, “I want to personally thank neighbors, family, friends, and others who have come forward with vital evidence. People know who these criminals are. They know what they’re up to. If you have any information, please contact the police,”. As you can see, he is being much more tuff on the aggregators than he was in past dealings with them.

His change in tone speaks volumes to how even he, (a liberal) is sick and tired of having his city being terrorized by Antifa radicals.
