Just moments ago Angela Greene spoke live in a video posted to Facebook by Virginia NBC affiliate Wavy TV 10. She was there to address the fact that she was just fired from her job as Portsmouth Police Chief. She is filing a wrongful termination suit for upholding the law and being retaliated against for sticking to her oath and enforcing the law.
“Going forward, it is going to be a long dark journey,” says Greene, as she asks for the public’s help. She says she wants law enforcement to be able to enforce the laws without interference from political leaders.
Greene charged Democrat State Senator Louise Lucas and many other high profile Democrats for their parts in the destruction of a monument earlier this year.

The Portsmouth, Virginia Police Chief Angela Greene has just announced that “several individuals conspired and organized to destroy a Confederate monument, as well as summon hundreds of people to join in the felonious acts, which not only resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to the monument, and ultimately, the life-threatening injury to Mr. Green”.
She said that she will make sure all laws are upheld and plans to execute a “comprehensive investigation”. They have “identified and secured arrest warrants of numerous individuals who conspired, organized, and participated in the felonious acts on June 10th.”
Let’s hope this sends a strong message to all people willing to do lawless damage to historical monuments around the nation. The police chief went on to name some of the people being arrested including a Democrat State Senator, multiple NAACP members, and a school board member.
The brave chief’s voice gently shook as the began to announce the names including a Democrat State Senator in Virginia:
“Therefore on today’s date, felony warrants, for conspiracy to commit a felony and felony injury to a monument in excess of $1000 have been obtained for the following individuals: Senator L. Louise Lucas, NAACP Representative James Boyd, NAACP Representative Louie Gibbs, NAACP Representative, Lakeesha Hicks, School Board member, Lakisha Atkinson…,” and she went on. Full list as featured by Wavy TV 10 including many other high profile people below the video, and they are being asked to immediately turn themselves in to the Portsmouth, PD.
Greene says that she was not officially told why she was fired today other than that she’s an at-will employee. She does find it odd that Senator Lucas goes to trial today. She was also put on leave the day of Democrat Senator Lucas’ arraignment.
Greene says she is going to court for, in part, her city manager telling her not to charge high profile Democrats in the case of the damaged Confederate monument where a man was severely injured earlier this year.
Former Chief Greene stated in her speech today that it is just her income that she has to support her mother and her three children and that she worked hard for 20 years to get the position of the police chief. She is trusting God to help her in her fight against what she believes to be purely political corruption. Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has previously signaled his support for Senator Lucas and his disdain for Chief Greene’s charges.
“I promise to the citizens and to the officers that when I’m done with Portsmouth it will be a better place” Greene added towards the end of the presser. A woman was crying in the audience that gave her a round of applause after her speech, proving that a chunk of the community is rallying around and supporting Greene.
Police Chief Greene says that any of her subordinate officers are all welcome to come work for her in the future if she ever lands a job in a different municipality.
