Rand Paul Breaks Silence, Condemns ‘Unconstitutional’ but ’Predictable’ FBI Raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago

U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) voiced his opposition last night to the raid that was carried out at Mar-a-Lago.

In a tweet, Paul referenced the FBI director Christopher Wray, who was appointed by the 45th President Donald Trump in 2017.

Many on the left are using the fact that Wray was appointed by Trump to make it seem like a nonpartisan decision.

Paul explained in a tweet, “The @FBI raid on President Trump was approved by Director Wray, who also claimed that the illegal FISA warrants used to spy on Trump were constitutional.”

“Today’s raid is outrageous and unjust, but predictable,” Paul declared.

U.S. Congressman Mike Turner (R-OH), the top GOP representative on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, asked for an immediate briefing from Wray.

In a letter to the FBI director, Turner wrote, “Congress deserves immediate answers from you as to the actions you ordered.

“I hereby request an immediate briefing by you to members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence concerning any national security threats used to justify your decision,” Turner insisted.

Turner pointed out that the search was “unprecedented” in the history of the country and that he’s unaware of “any actual or alleged national security threat” posed by data or documents in Trump’s possession.

U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) appeared on Fox News and called on both Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland to testify before the House as early as Friday.
