Megan Rapinoe, the world-famous U.S. soccer star who has avoided singing the national anthem, refused to visit the Trump White House in wake of a World Cup final win, now has included her parents in her political protests.

Rapinoe just can’t wrap her head around the fact that her parents, who sacrificed a lot for her career including 300 mile round trips for her to get more practice in, can support her and still be right-wing conservatives. As she puts it, `You guys need to go to therapy’.
Ms. Rapinoe’s father is thrilled with his daughter’s success in soccer. He never thought he would see her in the world cup. However, he and his wife supported their twin girls passion they had for soccer. Jim, Megan’s father stated that Megan’s success is a family deal. We all missed a lot of family get-togethers because we were shuttling Megan and her sister around to various tournaments up and down the west coast. In an interview with DailyMail.com.
Megan is just “Dumbfounded” by her father likely voting for Trump in 2016 and has said:
From The Daily Wire:
“I feel like I grew up with all of these lessons [about equality], but nothing was ever spoken. No language was ever put around it. Both of my parents should be really progressive — especially my mom — and I don’t get that they’re not. I’m always saying: ‘You guys should really be Democrats!’ But they’re not, so what’s happening?” Rapinoe told the outlet.
“The outlet” a reference to an interview with The Guardian.

Jim admits ‘I may not agree with some of her views about non-soccer issues, but I respect that she’s willing to put it all on the line and stand up for them.’ he loves and supports his daughter, just not her views.
There seems to be this blind spot that you can disagree with someone and still support and love them. Sadly, many on the left, especially young people, can’t understand how to reconcile their differing opinions and want to label those who oppose their views as crazy, needing therapy, or hateful and racist.

1. What kind of a daughter would say this about her parents on national media for the whole world to see?
2. Somebody disagrees with you, and therefore, that person needs therapy?
This is the perfect description of a maladjusted person in dire need of therapy herself.
