Texas Republican Congressman Chip Roy, announced Wednesday that he and almost 50 other Congressional Republicans have pledged to vote to not fund the government because of vaccine mandates.
Representative Roy took to Twitter to thank his GOP colleagues.
“49 Republican members of Congress have pledged not to vote for vaccine mandate funding this month.”

Republican Senators Cruz (TX), Johnson (WI), Paul (KY), and Lee (UT) joined the pledge. While Republicans in the House like Matt Gaetz (FL), Thomas Massie (KY), Paul Gosar (AZ), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) all signed on. Surprising to some Republicans, “RINO” Dan Crenshaw (TX) also joined the pledge.
Roy wrote in his letter to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), “After February 18, 2022, government funding will expire and congressional Republicans must once again decide whether they will vote to fund a federal government that is enforcing tyrannical COVID-19 vaccine mandates on the American people.”
Roy, in his letter, claimed, “The Biden administration has unilaterally imposed five separate COVID-19 vaccine mandates, four of which continue to directly impact millions of Americans.” This comes as his OSHA vaccine mandate was struck down by the Supreme Court in January.
He later urged his fellow Republicans to join him in refusing to fund a government that funds Covid-19 vaccine mandates. Noticeably, only four of the 50 GOP Senators joined the pledge and no one in Republican Congressional leadership has pledged to not vote to fund the government over these mandates.
