The Twitter Files, Part 4, which was released yesterday, claims that Twitter banned former President Donald Trump, in part, at the behest of a furious Michelle Obama, among others.
Michael Shellenberger reported that “after the events of Jan 6, the internal and external pressure on Twitter CEO @jack grows.”
“Former First Lady @michelleobama , tech journalist @karaswisher , @ADL , high-tech VC @ChrisSacca, and many others, publicly call on Twitter to permanently ban Trump,” Shellenberger explained.
Shellenberger shared screenshots to back up the assertions, including one from a statement that she had made on Jan. 7, 2021.
“Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior—and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technology from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection,” Obama had said at the time.
It was in that same statement that Obama had claimed that the summer of 2020’s “Black Lives Matter protests were an overwhelmingly peaceful movement—our nation’s largest demonstrations ever, bringing together people of every race and class and encouraging millions to re-examine their own assumptions and behavior.”
Many Twitter users reacted to the news, which although it the statement was out there, given how quickly everything occurred at the time, was buried in many ways.
Lavern Spicer responded, “I don’t remember Michelle getting in on it, too, but it doesn’t surprise me. These people were terrified of Trump’s voice.”

Twitter user “Lisa” added, “The FBI, DOJ, and Michelle Obama acted with Twitter to ban Trump. This just keeps getting more and more corrupt.”

Many on the left are attempting to downplay the revelations, but as more and more comes out, public opinion may begin to turn against them, time will tell.
