In an interview today on ABC’s “This Week,” outgoing Maryland GOP Gov. Larry Hogan painfully admitted that the Mar-a-Lago FBI raid was “actually a win” for the 45th President Donald Trump.
Hogan, who is a frequent critic of Trump, admitted that “It seemed to motivate his base, and people were rushing to his defense and feeling as if he was being picked upon and martyred.”
“But I don’t think we’ve seen the end of the story yet,” Hogan warned, echoing many of the talking points of the left.
Predictably, Hogan also came to the defense of the FBI and compared outrage on the right to the “defund the police” rhetoric from the left.
These are dedicated law enforcement officers,” Hogan insisted as he added, “First we had the left defunding the police and attacking police officers and now we have the right saying defund these federal law enforcement officers and it’s absurd and it’s dangerous.”
Those comments drew condemnation from leftists on Twitter including one who lectured, “No, @LarryHogan Democrats calling for police reform due to cop executions of Black people is NOT the same as @GOP calling for violence against FBI agents.”

On Thursday, Hogan flipped pork chops and shook hands at the Iowa State Fair, a key stop on the Iowa caucus campaign trail, amid speculation he will run for president in 2024.
Hogan has not made an announcement yet about 2024 as he continues to tell the press that he is focused on finishing out his term as Maryland governor.
