Rioters Appear to Take Advantage of COVID-19 Masks and Police Tragedy to Loot Target in MN

Rioters are looting stores in Minneapolis, MN according to a tweet from @Breaking911 that included a video of looters in masks making off with multiple large boxes as well as others around them running out of the store with other large boxes.

The city of Minneapolis has been in a state of unrest since the death of George Floyd. The four police officers involved in his arrest were fired. Mayor Jacob Frey has called for the immediate arrest of the officer that was seen kneeling on Floyd in a viral video. It looks like some have taken this tragic incident and used it for their own personal gain. Many are covering their faces in the video, which at this time isn’t a rare thing because of Covid-19. However, it appears to have an added benefit for those seen in the Twitter video above.

Protesters and rioters have been clashing with police in Minneapolis’s 3rd district. Police at the 3rd district precinct can be seen on top of the building with riot gear on. This can be seen in the tweet video below from reporter Hannah Flood.

Ice Cube sent out a few tweets about the death of George Floyd. One of his tweets was met with criticism from many. The tweet included a picture of one of the officers involved in George Floyd’s arrest and incorrectly inferred he was also the man in a second picture that was wearing a “Make America White Again” hat. Ice Cube’s first tweet about the incident asked the question “How long will we go for Blue on Black Crime before we strike back???”.

Many have taken to the streets to protest the horrible incident. Many others have taken it to a whole different level with rioting. In the video below rioters brake into the police gated parking lot and start smashing windows of the vehicles.

Photo Journalist Evan Frost reported on twitter that Minnehaha Liquor, Target, and Autozone are all being looted. The video included in the tweet shows a looter in a mask with a liquor bottle in hand holding it up saying “This what happens when they don’t give us justice”
