At a press conference today, Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis stood up for workers, specifically those on the front lines, against COVID vaccine mandates.
In a clip that DeSantis tweeted out, DeSantis declared, “Look, nobody, no cop, no fire fighter, no nurse, nobody should be losing their jobs because of these jabs.”
“We have got to stand up for people and protect their jobs and protect their livelihoods,” DeSantis insisted.
DeSantis tweetd, “No police officer, firefighter, nurse or anyone should lose their job because of COVID jabs. We are going to stand up and protect Floridians’ rights.”

According to WESH 2 News, DeSantis added, “It’s wrong to kick people out of work. It’s wrong to micromanage business like that.”
DeSantis reportedly said that the legislature will use the special session he called for to propose bills that will strengthen workers’ and parents’ rights.
“No Democrat will help any of these workers” during a special session DeSantis suspected as well.
Lawmakers have announced the legislature plans to consider the state leaving OSHA and setting their own regulations, although there isn’t a clear legal framework on whether or not the state can leave the federal regulatory agency.
Last week, DeSantis announced that Florida would join in on a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s vaccine mandates.
It was also reported today that DeSantis filed the official paperwork on Friday to run for re-election.
