Sarah Sanders on Capitol Hill Visit: Even the NYT Now Acknowledges That ‘Biden is Under the Control of the Left’

Arkansas GOP Gov. Candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders ripped President Joe Biden today over his visit to Capitol Hill yesterday amid a stalemate that has thrown a wrench his domestic agenda.

Sanders shared a screenshot of a New York Times article published today titled, “Biden throws in with left, leaving his agenda in doubt.”

Seizing on a headline that puts Biden in a questionable light, Sanders railed, “Even the New York Times now acknowledges what’s clear to rest of America – Biden is under the control of the left.”

“Biden is not a moderate, and his far left radical agenda is a threat to our great country that must be stopped,” Sanders explained.

The article from the NYT quoted U.S. House Rep Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) who said, “The way he is governing doesn’t reflect the skills I know he must have from his years as a legislator.

Murphy represents the seventh district in the state which is considered Biden +3 by the Cook Political Report, although she won in 2020 with over 55% of the vote.

It is conceivable, however, that Murphy’s district could be targeted in redistricting and she had been one of the moderates demanding an immediate vote on a trillion-dollar infrastructure bill, convinced that was what the president wanted, or at least needed, as the NYT put it.

The NYT added that Murphy called Biden’s refusal to push harder for legislation he had embraced “disappointing and frustrating.”

Biden effectively chose the left when he “ventured” to the Capitol yesterday to “help House Democrats out of their thicket,” the NYT asserted.

The rest of the article goes on to describe how Biden had essentially made promises to both sides of his party, the left and the moderates.

They explain that the moderates like Murphy who represent swing districts need to have so-called accomplishments to bring back to their constituents.

Progressives are also under pressure in many cases as well, as many displaced other Democrats in primaries over the last decade.

It will be interesting to see which side flinches or if anything gets accomplished at all, ultimately, and Republicans would prefer if none of these spending packages get passed.
